Sustainability

Sustainability combines aspects such as environmental protection, technology and innovation as well as economic success and social responsibility. At fischertechnik, we see all of this as one of our learning processes for living, working and managing in harmony with nature.

Member of the Fair Toys Organisation

As a member of the Fair Toy Organisation (FTO), fischertechnik is committed to improving ecological and social standards in the production of toys.
Our company is based in the northern Black Forest and is still one of the few in the industry that produces in Germany. We invest in the quality of our products and in high-quality accompanying materials. The construction blocks have been combinable with each other since their market launch in 1965 and are praised by fans for their particularly high stability. Even metre-high structures hold with the famous fischertechnik building blocks. The sustainability aspect is also particularly high with the fischerTiP creative material launched on the market in 1998: the colourful fischerTiPs are made of potato starch and food colouring and are therefore completely safe to use. The corresponding tools for conjuring up great figures and models from the TiPs - moistened with water - are made of resource-saving bioplastic.

Third sustainability seal for fischertechnik

fischertechnik has now once again received an award from Focus Money for its sustainable commitment. The toy manufacturer still produces its construction kits in Germany. The building blocks have been compatible with each other since their market launch in 1965. This year, fischertechnik launched a construction kit with bio-based building blocks in sustainable packaging.
The extent to which companies assume social, ecological and economic responsibility is closely monitored by the public. Focus Money shows just how closely every year. In cooperation with ServiceValue and Deutschland Test, the financial magazine conducted a representative survey among the German population of 1,530 providers from 113 industries and product categories. The key question: Which company is committed to sustainability? There was a clear result among toy manufacturers. Most of the consumers surveyed said that fischertechnik was behaving in an exemplary manner. As a result, the company came out on top in its sector and was honored by Focus Money with the "Sustainable Commitment: No. 1" award. This is the third time that the toy manufacturer from the northern Black Forest has been at the top of the Focus Money ranking.

"The award confirms our high standards for the value of our construction kits," says fischertechnik Managing Director Wilhelm Schoch. The company is one of only a few in the industry that continues to produce in Germany and invests in the quality of its products and in high-quality accompanying materials. The construction blocks have been combinable with each other since their market launch in 1965 and are praised by fans for their particularly high stability. Even meter-high structures hold with the famous fischertechnik building blocks. This year, the toy manufacturer launched a construction set containing building blocks made of bio-based plastic.
