Task 1: Speed of sound

Topic

The pupils are to measure the speed of sound using two smartphones. Several equations are necessary for this, which the pupils have to look up themselves.

The calculation is not easy to follow, the pupils may need some support here.

Learning objectives

The pupils determine the propagation velocity of sound in area.

Time required

The experiment takes about 20 minutes, depending on how much help the pupils need.
