SENA in Colombia relies on fischertechnik

A new learning center for the industry of tomorrow is being established in the Colombian department of Caldas: The public educational institution SENA has modernized its Centre for Industrial Automation and opened a modern training laboratory for Industry 4.0. The goal is to specifically prepare trainees and professionals for the demands of an increasingly digitalized working world and to strengthen Caldas as an important location for innovative technical education.

fischertechnik supports this development with practical learning solutions that make industrial processes clear and tangible. As part of the modernization, production simulators, temperature control modules, autonomous vehicles, a Smart Factory, as well as robotics, IoT, and AI kits were provided. This gives learners access to technologies that represent key topics of modern industrial companies: automation, digitalization, robotics, artificial intelligence, and networked production processes

An important part of the project was also the training of the SENA teachers. They were prepared to use the fischertechnik systems purposefully in lessons and to convey complex technical content in a practical way. This turns theoretical knowledge into concrete application: the trainees can build, test, analyze, and understand processes themselves.

With the new laboratories, SENA creates a learning environment where future technologies are not only explained but actively experienced. The fischertechnik solutions enable realistic simulations of industrial processes and promote a deep understanding of modern production methods. For the learners, this means a practice-oriented education that optimally prepares them for the digital working world

The project demonstrates how technical education can be sustainably strengthened through illustrative models, modern technologies, and practice-oriented didactics. Together with fischertechnik, SENA makes Industry 4.0 tangible in Caldas and lays the foundation for a new generation of qualified professionals.
